A wider, safer, better Willow Road
Willow Road is the heavily-traveled main artery through Northfield, and plans to widen it from two lanes have languished for decades.
In this video, volunteers from the North Suburban Awareness Group outline their support for a 3-lane solution that, they say, would promote progress while preserving Northfield's rural character and ensuring safety for school children crossing the road. The volunteers were gathering signatures in support of their position at the Northfield Farmers Market last Saturday.

Comment by Bonnie Larson on July 2, 2008 at 7:42am - We are all concerned about the children who must cross Willow in order to get to school. Maybe it would help to explain the different options that have already been studied and rejected. (ex. A pedestrian walkway over Willow? A walkway under Willow similar to the one at Willow and Green Bay in Winnetka?)
